Magna Global Projects A 3% Rise In Ad Spending

A a new forecast by media agency MAGNA GLOBAL sees global ad spending reaching $486.0 billion this year, up 3.0% over last year. In 2014, the company projects global ad spending will total $515.0 billion, up 6.1% over this year.
BTOBONLINE reports, "In the U.S., ad spending will reach $155.0 billion this year, up 0.4% over last year (not including OLYMPIC and political ad spending). Next year, ad spending in the U.S. will total about $164.1 billion, an increase of 5.8% over this year."
It's no surprise that digital media will show the strongest growth this year, up 13.4%. Good news for radio, as MAGNA GLOBAL puts it right behind TV (2.0%) with an expected 1.1% growth).
Newspapers and magazines are projected to have down years, with papers down 3.3% and magazine advertising off about 5.1%.
