Bobby (Blue) Bland Dies At 83

BOBBY (BLUE) BLAND, the blues singer and ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME member, died SUNDAY (6/24) at 83 in MEMPHIS.
BLAND was a regular presence in the top 10 of the U.S. R&B chart from his number one hit "Farther Up the Road" in 1957 through the 1970s. Four of his hits -- "Turn On Your Love Light," "That's the Way Love Is," "Ain't Nothing You Can Do," and "Call On Me" -- crossed over to the Pop Top 40 and several reached the top 100.
BLAND recorded for CHESS, DUKE, DUNHILL, ABC, IMPULSE, MCA, and MALACO during his career, with his last studio album being 2003's "Blues at Midnight" for MALACO. He was inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1992.
