KHXT Lafayette Morning Show Aids Local Listener

Kudos to TOWNSQUARE Top 40/Rhythmic KHXT (HOT 107.9)/LAFAYETTE LA, whose morning host CHRIS REED recently came to the aid of a local listener.
REED told ALL ACCESS, "On the show, we do a bit called "Twitter Tuesday" where listeners fill in the blank on a trending topic. This week, I asked listeners to finish the statement, "I Need A ______." Some answered with jokes but one listener said she needed an air conditioner for her home. Playing along with the topic, we joked about it being hot, but then the conversation turned more serious. Turns out she's a single mom with a seven-month-old child. They have been staying at her parent’s home for the last three weeks because the temperature in her home had become unbearable. So I just put it out there and asked for someone to help this young lady out."
Two local businessmen, CHAD ARNAUD, who owns nearby SCANDAL’S night club, and PAUL TYLOCK, the owner of FROZEN SUN DAIQUIRIS, were listening and contacted REED to ask what he needed, as they were concerned about a seven-month-old staying in a home without any air conditioner, while it was so hot. The trio headed to the store where they purchased a mobile air conditioner and delivered it to her home.
REED continues, "When we arrived to her house, it was 91 degrees inside! But because of the generosity of CHAD and PAUL, the home would soon be comfortably cool. Personally, this was the most gratifying day in my radio career! To see people come together for a complete stranger reassures me that there still are some very special people in our community." The grateful listener called them "guardian angels" and had special thanks for them. Watch here.
