Sad news to report as Canadian actor CORY MONTEITH, age 31, who played the role of FINN HUDSON in the FOX TV hit "GLEE," was found dead in his VANCOUVER hotel room on the 21st floor of the FAIRMONT PACIFIC RIM HOTEL at around NOON on SATURDAY (7/14). He was discovered by a hotel employee as he missed his check out time. An autopsy is set for TODAY (7/15).
It appeared that MONTEITH was alone in his room at the time of his death.
VANCOUVER POLICE DEPARTMENT Acting Chief DOUG LePARD spoke at a TV news conference on SATURDAY, saying "all indications are that there was no foul play" ... and he went on to note that "the cause of death wasn't immediately apparent."
MONTEITH missed the last few episodes of GLEE, in its fourth season, as he'd checked himself into rehab in MARCH, and completed the one-month program. It was not his first time in rehab, as he'd gone through treatment when he was 19.
