Doctors say RANDY TRAVIS’ condition has stabilized, just days after he suffered a stroke brought on by congestive heart failure (NET NEWS 7/10). Following the stroke, TRAVIS underwent immediate surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
According to Dr. MICHAEL MACK of The HEART HOSPITAL of BAYLOR in PLANO, TX, TRAVIS -- while still in critical condition -- no longer requires any mechanical devices that help support his heart. MACK and fellow physician Dr. GARY ERWIN stressed that TRAVIS’ initial problem of cardiomyopathy is part of a family medical history and not related to any drug or alcohol issues.
