A week after CURTISS JOHNSON, Station Manager for ENTERCOM's Classic Rock KSEG (EAGLE 96.9)/SACRAMENTO left ENTERCOM SACRAMENTO (NET NEWS 7/17), THE SACRAMENTO BEE reports KSEG morning host WALT GRAY was laid off today after finishing his weekday radio show.
GRAY said "There were a number of people across the station who were let go today - good people in several departments."
GRAY joined KSEG on OCTOBER 22nd to co-host the Classic Rock Morning show with KAT MAUDRU. Previously he worked as a TV News anchor for SACRAMENTO's KCRA for 25 years.
A source told ALL ACCESS there was expected to be other cuts in the Promotion and Marketing departments along with Producers and other support staff through out the cluster.
ENTERCOM Director/Strategic Communications KEVIN GEARY told ALL ACCESS, "Our brands here in SACRAMENTO are incredibly strong and we continue to grow the number of listeners accessing our stations each year. These moves will improve our ability to deliver real value to our clients in meaningful ways and make it easier to unleash the full power of our amazing brands. We are excited about the future and our nationwide search for a new morning program on THE EAGLE."
