CENTRAL ONTARIO BROADCASTING is set to launch a new station TOMORROW (7/31) at NOON local time in TORONTO. CIND (INDIE88) is described as a mix between indie rock and Triple A, and is "committed to providing a platform for emerging CANADIAN artists and all their fans."
ADAM THOMPSON has been named as the PD. He said, “Musically, INDIE88 will span the last four decades, and will focus on a blend of Indie Folk, Indie Pop and Indie Rock. Heavy emphasis will be placed on emerging bands from TORONTO.”
ALAN CROSS is consulting the station. He said, “Given where things are with music in TORONTO today, INDIE88 has the potential to become the gathering place for the TORONTO music community, the place to go hear what is new and what is next.”
