FCC Reform Bill Introduced In Senate

Sen. DEAN HELLER (R-NV) has introduced a version of an FCC reform bill in the Senate. The FCC Consolidated Reporting Act was introduced on the Senate side on MONDAY (7/29),
“The reports Congress has mandated the FCC to produce over the years are rarely submitted on time and do not always reflect the current state of competition in the marketplace adequately. Democrats and Republicans agree that it makes sense to consolidate these reports and issue them at one time in the beginning of a new Congress. Such a move will reduce reporting burdens on the FCC and private industry while giving a cleaner picture of competition in the marketplace. Chairman WALDEN and I are committed to working across the aisle and with the Federal Communication Commission as we advocate for this common sense reform in our respective Chambers of Congress,” said HELLER.
Previous attempts at FCC reform legislation introduced by HELLER have failed in the Senate.
