Clear Channel Cites Social Media Interaction Increase For 2013 iHeart Music Festival

CLEAR CHANNEL says that its iHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL generated over 1.4 million social media interactions and 2.3 billion impressions this year, doubling 2012's totals. The event involved over 700,000 active social media users and showed a sharp rise in the use of INSTAGRAM, which went from less than 1% of activity for 2012's concert to 23% this year.
The buzz included 97,202 social media posts and 1,297,909 interactions; MILEY CYRUS was the most-mentioned artist, followed by KATY PERRY, QUEEN, and CHRIS BROWN. The interactions skewed 66% female and 48% in the 18-24 demo, with 83% being under 34 years old.
