CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WNRW (98.9 RADIO NOW) and Adult Hits WLGX (100.5 GEN X RADIO)/LOUISVILLE just completed their 2nd Annual “BRAS ACROSS THE BLUEGRASS” promotion.
Listeners were asked to come out and donate their unwanted bras, regardless of condition, and sponsors would donate $1 per bra to the NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION to support their early detection and patient support programs. The donated bras were strung up along one of the busiest streets in LOUISVILLE as a vigil of honor and remembrance for breast cancer victims.
PD JONATHAN SHUFORD said, "The week was a HUGE success, as the community overwhelmingly supported the cause and we ended up with a total of 5,296 bras. Thanks to the generosity of all our sponsors, we’ll be able to donate over $7,000 to the NBCF. We met so many amazing people, heard some wonderful stories, and were able to create a really incredible monument to all those battling breast cancer locally. It’s always exciting to use the power of radio to do something that transcends the music and really makes a difference in someone’s life."
