RADIO EXPRESS has partnered with BHARTI AIRTEL (“AIRTEL”), a leading telecommunications services provider with operations in 20 countries across ASIA and AFRICA, to launch two newly created radio shows this month, airing on 35 stations in 17 African countries. The weekly countdown shows, AIRTEL MUSIC EXPRESS (in English) and AIRTEL MUSIQUE EXPRESS (in French) are produced by RADIO EXPRESS and feature the hottest pop songs on the African airwaves, connecting people to performers from AFRICA and beyond.
AIRTEL AFRICA CMO ANDRE BEYERS said, “Our objective is to raise brand and product awareness for AIRTEL among consumers in AFRICA. Radio is the world’s most accessible and personally engaging mass medium, and it was a natural choice to work with Radio Express and these popular radio stations to bring AIRTEL MUSIC EXPRESS and AIRTEL MUSIQUE EXPRESS to music lovers across these 17 countries. We think listeners will love the mix of global music and local music hits in the shows’ engaging countdown format.
RADIO EXPRESS CEO TOM ROUNDS said, “It is a thrill to announce the launch of these two new radio shows across 35 stations in 17 countries in AFRICA. It has been a tremendous honor and pleasure to build this show and network with AIRTEL and with our friends at these great radio stations. JESSICA D’AGOSTIN, VP/Sales and CHRISTIAN JONES, VP/Production and Creative Services, led RADIO EXPRESS’ development team and worked with AIRTEL and their agency, OGILVY AFRICA, to make this a reality. Together, we created a fully customized program that is in line with AIRTEL’s brand strategy, and that radio stations love. We have long-term relationships with radio stations throughout AFRICA, enabling us to put together such a large group of affiliates for AIRTEL.”
