PIONEER's next-generation audio receivers were unveiled TODAY for International CES, featuring what the car audio manufacturer calls "NEX, the Networked Entertainment eXperience." The receivers, four navigation and one audio video receiver, connect to smartphones and use large touch panels (including a 7-inch panel on one model) and include PIONEER's AppRadio Mode (with control of iPhone or compatible Android device apps) and other features.
PIONEER USA Car Electronics Division TED CARDENAS said, “We are proud to introduce our next generation of network connected in-dash receivers, bridging the gap between smartphone tethered products like AppRadio and traditional multimedia products like navigation and DVD receivers. By leveraging the connectivity of the smartphone, we are able to augment and update many of the built-in features with dynamic cloud based content.”
All of the new models, which will be available starting in FEBRUARY, include Siri Eyes Free for voice control of iPhones, SIRIUSXM capability with an added tuner, HD RADIO (except for one model), AHA RADIO, and the ability to create a new PANDORA station by touching one button.
