The attorney for former Sports WGNU-A (CBS SPORTS RADIO 920)/ST. LOUIS host and major league slugger JACK CLARK has moved to have LOS ANGELES ANGELS star ALBERT PUJOLS' defamation lawsuit over CLARK's allegations that PUJOLS used performance-enhancing drugs dismissed.
WCBS-TV/NEW YORK and AP report that a motion was filed MONDAY to have the case dismissed, saying that the comments were too vague to be harmful. Attorney ALBERT WATKINS said, “You call someone a juicer, in fact, there are multiple definitions of ‘juicer.’ It could mean illegal performance enhancing drugs, legal performance enhancing drugs. Simply saying that my client asserted that Mr. PUJOLS was a ‘juicer,’ under the law that governs defamation actions, is not enough." CLARK was fired from his radio job after the allegations created a furor; PUJOLS denies CLARK's allegations and sued for defamation.
