A resolution has been reached in the lawsuit by LOS ANGELES ANGELS star ALBERT PUJOLS against former Sports WGNU-A (CBS SPORTS RADIO 920)/ST. LOUIS host and major league slugger JACK CLARK, with CLARK issuing a public retraction of his allegations that PUJOLS used performance-enhancing drugs and PUJOLS accepting the apology, reports the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The paper says that the deal will see PUJOLS drop his suit over the comments, which got CLARK dismissed from the station in AUGUST.
The paper quoted the statement from CLARK as reading, “I would like to address ALBERT PUJOLS’ pending defamation lawsuit and reconfirm that I have no knowledge whatsoever that Mr. PUJOLS has ever used illegal or banned PEDs. I publicly retract my statements that ALBERT PUJOLS used such substances. During a heated discussion on air, I misspoke, and for that I sincerely apologize.”
PUJOLS, like CLARK a former ST. LOUIS CARDINAL, said, “I have accepted JACK CLARK’s retraction and apology to resolve my lawsuit against him and clear my name.”
