CCM+E Top 40/Mainstream WFLZ (93.3 FLZ)/TAMPA and local nonprofit MORE HEALTH have teamed up for the Focus on the Road Challenge to encourage TAMPA BAY area high school students to pledge to not text and drive. Students who take the Focus on the Road Challenge will be entered for a chance to win a VIP experience with recording artist DEMI LOVATO on FEBRUARY 26th.
WFLZ on-air personalities will ask local students to take the challenge, which will include an online pledge and a 140-character explanation of why they believe it is important to not text and drive. The winner will receive 10 tickets to see DEMI LOVATO perform live in concert at the TAMPA BAY TIMES FORUM, plus passes to a private pre-show and a VIP party hosted by DEMI LOVATO.
“We want to encourage teens throughout the TAMPA BAY area to be safe drivers by wearing their seatbelts and not texting and driving,” MORE HEALTH Exec. Dir. KAREN PESCE BUCKENHEIMER said. “Our roads are especially congested this time of year, and 93.3FLZ is a great way to encourage our community to focus on the road rather than their phones.”
“93.3FLZ is committed to keeping our community safe, both in and out of the car,” PD TOMMY CHUCK said. “The station has partnered with MORE HEALTH to bring attention to the severe dangers of texting while driving and to encourage our youth to change their driving behaviors. Focus on the Road Challenge addresses a very critical issue while connecting young listeners with one of the biggest names in pop music.”
