Meanwhile, in CANADA, the CRTC approved VISTA RADIO LTD.'s application for a new Adult Rock/Classic Rock FM in GRAND FORKS, BC, replacing its existing CKGF (MOUNTAIN FM)/GREENWOOD, BC, which it said has an impeded signal in GRAND FORKS, the primary population and business center in the EAST KOOTENAY region. The new station at 102.3 FM will maintain CKGF's rebroadcasting transmitters in ROCK CREEK and CHRISTINA LAKE, BC, and CKGF's present GREENWOOD transmitter will remain in service rebroadcasting the new station. CKGF began on AM in GRAND FORKS, moved to FM in 1984, and shut down its GRAND FORKS operation in 2004, with the GREENWOOD transmitter taking over as originating station.
