Barry Young Announces Plan To Retire From KFYI In November

CLEAR CHANNEL News-Talk KFYI-A/PHOENIX host BARRY YOUNG announced his retirement, effective NOVEMBER 7th. The "Nearly Famous" YOUNG has been in radio for over 48 years, the last 27 with KFYI. He previously worked at WGAC-A/AUGUSTA, GA (at the age of 14), WRNG-A/ATLANTA, WFAA-A/DALLAS, WNWS-A/MIAMI, and WJNO-A/WEST PALM BEACH, and joined KFYI in 1987, serving as PD in 1988-98.
The announcement drew a response from Sen. JOHN MCCAIN, who tweeted, "Barry Young, #Arizona's preeminent political commentator, today announced he'll leave @KFYI at end of 2014 - we will miss him."
