SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM second quarter net revenue rose 10% to $48.8 million, with radio net revenue up 6% to $47.4 million, mostly from local and barter revenues and mostly from SAN FRANCISCO, LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK, and PUERTO RICO markets, offset by losses in CHICAGO. The company's new MEGA TV station in MIAMI earned $1.4 million in net revenues for the quarter. Operating income excluding expenses for the new TV startup rose 17% to $18.2 million.
Revenues and operating income are expected to grow in the los-single-digit range for third quarter.
