RIVER DELTA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT has been hit with a proposed $1,500 fine by the FCC for a late license renewal application for KRVH/RIO VISTA, CA.
In addition, the FCC has denied the Application for Review filed by ENTRAVISION HOLDINGS, LLC against the grant of a new FM at AGUILA, AZ to ABLE RADIO CORP. in FM Auction 70. ENTRAVISION contended that ABLE's filing to move the new station's transmitter site after winning the auction indicated that it had failed to obtain reasonable assurance of site availability for the initial site.
The Commission also denied the Application for Review of its denial of waivers of the rules for four noncommercial educational FM applicants -- CLEAR CREEK RADIO, INC. at IDAHO SPRINGS, CO; FRASER VALLEY COMMUNITY MEDIA, INC. at WINTER PARK, CO;
RV MINISTRIES, INC. at FRASER, CO; and THE NORTH FORK ANGLING SOCIETY at PINE, CO -- to allow for overlap of predicted contours among the proposed stations because terrain shielding would prevent interference.Also rejected was an appeal by PUERTO RICO BROADCASTING CORP. of the dismissal of its application for a new noncommercial educational FM at MAYAGUEZ, PR, which the Commission said would have interfered with another station. Again, the applicant asserted that terrain shielding would prevent interference, but the Commission worried about the cumulative effects of multiple waivers if this one was granted.
The Commission also released the list of 17 bidders found to be qualified to participate in AM Auction 84. The list includes ADVANCED MODULATION BROADCASTING,
LLC; ALEXANDER BROADCASTING, INC.; AUSTIN R. KENNEDY LLC; BOTT COMMUNICATIONS, INC.; CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING, INC. ; GENESIS COMMUNICATIONS I, INC.; HURON BROADCASTING LLC; STEVE E. KING; L. TOPAZ ENTERPRISES, INC.; LA FAVORITA BROADCASTING, INC.; LEVINE/SCHWAB PARTNERSHIP; JERROLD T. LUNDQUIST; POLNET COMMUNICATIONS, LTD.; ROYCE INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY; S&B BROADCASTING COMPANY; EDWARD A. SCHOBER; and SMITH & FITZGERALD, PARTNERSHIP.
