This summer EMINEM is bringing a rap battle league to NEW YORK CITY for a "TOTAL SLAUGHTER" competition taking place at the HAMMERSTEIN BALL ROOM ON JULY 12th, reports ROLLING STONE. SLAUGHTER HOUSE fans can also expect troupe favorites like JOE BUDDEN on mic at the inaugural show hosted by SHADY RECORDS and Hip-Hop website WatchLOUD.
EMINEM's manager PAUL ROSENBERG said, "What we look at this opportunity as a way to do for battle rapping what UFC did for MMA. That is really the model we are basing it on. It's a great thing that a lot of people love, but it's very splintered and it's very niche, and it's not really brought into the right production levels that it can or should be."
The famed SLIM SHADY star EMIMEN added, "I'm a passionate battle fan, so this is something I've always thought about doing. I came up battling at the same time I was making records and learning my way around the studio. It's a little bit different in terms of the tools you need, but the competitiveness is the same."
