A postscript to the TODD SCHNITT-BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE case continues to make news in the TAMPA BAY area, as three members of the law firm that successfully defended BUBBA against SCHNITT's lawsuit are now facing disciplinary action by the FLORIDA BAR in the alleged setup of SCHNITT's attorney for a DUI arrest during the trial.
FOX O&O WTVT (TV) (FOX 13)/TAMPA reports that STEPHEN DIACO (brother of BUBBA's attorney JOSEPH DIACO), ROBERT ADAMS and ADAM FILTHAUT face action by the bar for participating in what a special prosecutor has deemed a setup arranged with TAMPA Police Sgt. RAY FERNANDEZ, then the head of the TPD's DUI squad, who was later fired for his role in the incident.
SCHNITT's attorney PHIL CAMPBELL was arrested for a DUI after encountering a legal aide for BUBBA's lawyers who drank with him at a TAMPA restaurant and then asked him to move her car, whereupon he was arrested. Charges were later dropped and the FBI is looking into the case.
