The "FREEDOM 1300" Talk format at PROCTOR-WILLIAMS' KSET-A/BEAUMONT, TX has been pulled from the air. Programming is streaming online via the station's website and TUNEIN, but is not airing on the broadcast signal.
A message at the FREEDOM 1300 website reads, "A little over a year ago FREEDOM 1300 was born from a failed station which had been off air for almost a year and faced license forfeiture. In an effort to save the license and bring you a choice, we took on a project that many said wouldn’t last a month. In the beginning it was a struggle for recognition and support in the community, yet nearly a year later we have received both.
"The station was launched with the idea that a message of individual liberty and common sense was worth fighting for. There was the idea that this message would be a well received and refreshing change for the community, and it was. This is why we are looking at all options to put your station back on the air waves as quickly as possible.
"To our listeners and advertisers, we understand this past year you have had a choice so we want to thank you for choosing Freedom. We at FREEDOM 1300 pledge to continue to bring the best programming we can provide you until the end."
And on FACEBOOK, the station posted, "Irony -- We have the new #1 Talk show host in the U.S. (MICHAEL SAVAGE). We have an alternative to RUSH LIMBAUGH and SEAN HANNITY, we have the man who broke the stories of the NSA spying on you and the IRS targeting Tea Parties (ALEX JONES), we are about to have ratings for the first time in KSET history, and after a year of struggle FREEDOM 1300 has made an impact on our community and in your lives. We will return to the airways soon; until then don't forget to stream us at freedom1300.com."
