Pepsi Launching Label To Promote World Cup Album

PEPSI is teaming up with UNIVERSAL’s CAROLINE DISTRIBUTION to launch its own label. MSC SOUNDS, BILLBOARD reports. It will release a full album, Beats Of The Beautiful Game, tied to this year’s WORLD CUP in BRAZIL, promoting it by debuting a new song from the compilation on iTUNES each week leading up to its JUNE 9th (international)/JUNE 10th (U.S.) release.
The album will feature artists like JANELLE MONAE, KELLY ROWLAND, RITA ORA, TIMBALAND, R3HAB and Brazilian hip-hop group PERLAS NEGRAS, among others. The 11 featured artists will also have short films created, inspired by their music, and overseen by the likes of SPIKE LEE, IDRIS ELBA, DIEGO LUNA and YOUNG ASTRONAUTS, as well as others.
