CUMULUS MEDIA Active Rock KXXR (93X)/MINNEAPOLIS PD WADE LINDER has been named OM/PD of CUMULUS Classic Rock WLUP and OM of Alternative WKQX/CHICAGO. He replaces JIM RICHARDS, who moved to CUMULUS/SAN FRANCISCO last month as PD of Triple A KFOG and Classic Rock KSAN.
LINDER began his radio career in 1990 as MD at Classic Rock KQRS/MINNEAPOLIS. He helped sign on then-Alternative KEGE (93.7 THE EDGE) as MD and later flipped the station to Active Rock. He was then promoted to PD of 93X And oversaw strategy and day-to-day operations of the station for 17 successful years.
CUMULUS EVP/Co-Chief Operating Officer JOHN DICKEY said, “WADE’s years of success in MINNEAPOLIS make him a logical candidate for this position. We feel privileged to have such bench strength inside of CUMULUS.”
LINDER said, “I would like to thank JOHN DICKEY, MIKE MCVAY, TROY HANSON, DONNA BAKER for the confidence they have in me, as I take the wheel at such venerable brands and work with the talented team in place at WLUP and WKQX. It’s bittersweet to leave MINNEAPOLIS; I owe a great amount of gratitude to my talented friends at KXXR and KQRS that made my run seem effortless.”
