WFUV Strikes a Chord for a Greener Metropolitan Area

FORDHAM UNIVERSITY Triple A WFUV/NEW YORK’S STRIKE A CHORD public service series is now set to bring more “green” to the city during the month of JUNE. As part of the campaign, WFUV has been broadcasting public service announcements voiced by leaders and volunteers of community organizations.
During the week of JUNE 23rd the station will air a series of reports highlighting the efforts of community gardeners and others working to add more nature to the New York metropolitan region.
Then on n JUNE 28th the station will feature a special hour of programming on the topic with special focus on the importance of gardens in highly developed, urban environments
“In a city like NEW YORK, having access to green spaces is critical,” says News and Public Affairs Director GEORGE BODARKY. “New Yorkers find solace and inspiration in parks and community gardens, and thankfully there are a whole lot of people dedicated to making sure neighborhoods are more than just concrete and steel.”
