Rumors Of KFWB Flip To Sports Get Louder
July 25, 2014 at 1:44 PM (PT)
The rumors that KFWB ASSET TRUST News-Talk KFWB-A/LOS ANGELES will flip to Sports using CBS SPORTS RADIO continue to fly, and while official word hasn't been issued on the change, ALL ACCESS hears that the News-Talk format's ending is likely to happen on AUGUST 29th, with the Sports format kicking in either that weekend or SEPTEMBER 1st.
The network has been airing in the market on the HD2 multicast channel of CBS RADIO Adult Hits KCBS-F (93.1 JACK FM). The move would bring JIM ROME's show back to his home market on a local analog affiliate for the first time since he moved from PREMIERE NETWORKS (and crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KLAC-A) to CBS. ROME's daily short-form commentaries are cleared on KFWB, which has also been clearing some NBC SPORTS RADIO programming.
The station, which was placed into trust by CBS RADIO in NOVEMBER 2011, currently carries LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS play-by-play.
