TEXAS MUSIC CHART Founding Editor KATIE KEY will resign from the company after a 15-year run.
KEY, who served as the public face of BEST IN TEXAS ONLINE, will look to increase family time with her departure. "My son is starting junior high this year, and it's a good time to be closer to home and be more available for my family and to take a break," remarked KEY. "Please don't worry: the TEXAS MUSIC CHART, the CLUTTERED CORNER and BEST IN TEXAS ONLINE will continue!"
In JUNE 2013, SHANE MEDIA's LIZZY WAGGONER and OLIVIA RIZZO were promoted to TEXAS MUSIC CHART Editor and BEST IN TEXAS ONLINE Digital Editor, respectively, in preparation for KEY's departure. WAGGONER and RIZZO will remain in their current roles.
"KATIE has been a key partner in the TEXAS MUSIC CHART and BEST IN TEXAS content platforms from the beginning," noted BEST IN TEXAS CEO ED SHANE. "Her contributions to these businesses and to the TEXAS/Red Dirt scene overall are immeasurable. On the other hand, her family has always been primary to her, as it should be; and I have the utmost respect for her and her decision."
KEY penned her farewell weekly "Key Notes" column, ensuring readers she would remain a fan of the TEXAS music community. Read KEY's farewell column here.
