Condolences to family and friends of former WWL-A-F/NEW ORLEANS Station Manager RAY MURO, who died MONDAY after a long illness at 87, report NBC affiliate WWL-TV and the NEW ORLEANS ADVOCATE.
After a post-war stint at INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER and starting in the media with the old NEW ORLEANS ITEM, MURO, when the ITEM was sold and folded into the crosstown NEW ORLEANS STATES, joined WWL-TV as a salesman in 1958.
He was moved to the radio side as Station Manager in 1967 and worked there until his 1985 retirement, after which he ran a photography studio and became a black-belt in judo and a martial arts instructor.
