Mute Announces Three New Appointments In Management, Publicity, Sales

Legendary post-punk label MUTE RECORDS has announced three new staff appoointments in its NEW YORK office. PHIL SHUSTER has joined the company as Head of MUTE MANAGEMENT USA, reporting to DICK O'DELL, Head of MUTE MANAGEMENT WORLDWIDE.
PHIL's experience in management, A&R and artist development started at OVERLAND PRODUCTIONS working with such artists as TALKING HEADS, THE RAMONES, BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE, DEBORAH HARRY and JANE'S ADDICTION. He subsequently worked at RADIOACTIVE/MCA RECORDS, where he played a crucial role in the success of LIVE and SHIRLEY MANSON. More recently, he has been working in the digital sector as VP/Artist & Label Relations at HAYSTACK MEDIA and SECTION 101. PHIIL will be working with LIARS and BETH JEANS HOUGHTON, as well as new signings ROSIE LOWE and CHARLIE CUNNINGHAM.
MONA DEHGHAN is named Dir./ Publicity. She has seven years experience working in publicity and radio across a wide range of companies, most recently at GIRLIE ACTION MEDIA. She previously worked for DOMINO RECORDS, TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS PUBLICITY and SUB POP RECORDS after a year studying in LONDON and working at BBC 6MUSIC. MONA will be managing press campaigns for ARCA, NEW ORDER, ZOLA JESUS, ERASURE, THE ACID and COLD SPECKS in addition to catalog reissues of CAN, M83 and CABARET VOLTAIRE, among others.
JASON JONES comes aboard as Dir./Sales. JONES began his career in ATHENS, GA at ELEPHANT SIX-affiliated label HHBTM RECORDS. In his most recent position, JASON managed client relations for THE ORCHARD, where he served as the digital distributor’s liaison for a division of clients, including artists and production companies. JASON will oversee all physical and digital sales initiatives as well as liaise with NORTH AMERICAN distributors.
