iHeartMedia Flips Alternative WCGX For A New Urban 'Beat'

iHEARTMEDIA has flipped Alternative WCGX/COLUMBUS, OH to Urban WZCB (106.7 THE BEAT). The new format is effective immediately, and the transition from the call letters WCGX to WZCB will take effect within seven days. The previous Alternative format will continue to be heard in COLUMBUS at WBWR-HD2 (105.7-HD2)

The station will be anchored by PREMIERE NETWORKS syndicated THE BREAKFAST CLUB with DJ ENVY, ANGELA YEE and CHARLAMANGE THA GOD.  The show will launch on OCTOBER 6th at 5:30a.

COLUMBUS VP/Programming MICHAEL McCOY told ALL ACCESS, " We will utilize PREMIUM CHOICE for middays and we are looking to hire for PM drive/APD and evenings.  In addition to his current duties, McCOY will also program the station.

SVP/Urban Programming DOC WYNTER said, "106.7 THE BEAT is ready to take Hip-Hop's Heavyweight Title in COLUMBUS."
