What does legendary on-air personality CHARLIE TUNA have in dommon with ex-President JIMMYCARTER? No, they both don't have lust in their hearts, but are memorialized in the form of transistor radios as part of the fourth quarter “Feature Display” at the GEORGIA RADIO MUSEUM AND HALL OF FAME.
Visitors will see a large collection of transistor models from 1957 thru 2003. Most were donated; however, the museum is pleased to be able to display some of COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, collector RAY WEAVER's extensive collection of transistor radios. Both the TUNA and CARTER figure models are from that collection. Also, there are radios donated by the estates of prominent GEORGIA radio notables ELMO ELLIS and PAUL DREW.
The GEORGIA RADIO MUSEUM is located at the CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAUWELCOME CENTER at 400 SOUTH OSBORNE STREET in ST. MARYS, GEORGIA.
