ALL ACCESS congratulates HALL COMMUNICATIONS Country WPCV/LAKELAND, FL morning personality TOM O’BRIEN on his retirement, following YESTERDAY’s (9/30) show, ending a 19-year run with the station. Following 15 years as morning co-host, O’BRIEN had spent the past four years as the station’s community ambassador.
“TOM's retirement marks the end of an amazing 19-year run As the consistent member of the ‘97 COUNTRY MORNING SHOW,’" said PD MIKE JAMES. “TOM has made thousands of friends over the years, and has built an incredibly loyal following among our 97 COUNTRY listeners, especially as a result of his daily interactions in the community with his ‘Hometown Handshake Tour.’ His one-to-one interactions with listeners in POLK COUNTY each morning have been a key factor in building 97 COUNTRY's strong brand and heritage."
O’BRIEN’s position will not be filled, according to JAMES.
Commented O’BRIEN, “To the staff and management at 97 COUNTRY, and to all of you listeners that have been by my side for the past 19 years, I truly love you, and you have given me so many wonderful memories that I will cherish.”
