KMXZ Announces 'Thanksgiving On The Mayflower' 2014

JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP AC KMXZ (94.9 MIXfm)/TUCSON and TUCSON ELECTRIC POWER will its 10th annual “THANKSGIVING on the MAYFLOWER, a one-day fundraising and food drive from 5:30a-6p on NOVEMBER 13th for the COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA.

KMXZ (94.9 MIXfm) will broadcast live from the SAM’s CLUB parking lot throughout the day.  The TUCSON community will be asked to fill an entire MERIDIAN MAYFLOWER MOVING SYSTEMS moving truck with non-perishable items, and to make cash donations to the COMMUNITY FOOD BANK. The COMMUNITY FOOD BANK’s buying power and business practices allow it to distribute about four meals for every one dollar donated.

According to JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/TUCSON OM SHAUN HOLLY, "We’re very fortunate in TUCSON to have one of the most successful THANKSGIVING food drives I’ve seen in any market.  MIXfm puts its whole heart into it every year.  Last year’s ‘THANKSGIVING ON THE MAYFLOWER' generated more than 6,000 pounds of food and raised $149,000 thanks to our generous listeners."
