Clear Channel Restructures Management

As expected, CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO has restructured their management team. CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO Pres. and CEO JOHN HOGAN -- who worked on the plan with newly-appointed EVP/Ops. CHARLIE RAHILLY, SUSAN KARIS and TOM SCHURR (NEW NEWS 8/17) -- has detailed the restructuring in a memo which ALL ACCESS has obtained. The company's new approach has fewer layers of management, and, while some of the titles for managers will sound the same as titles prior, the memo says "the job descriptions and responsibilities associated with them are quite different." Here's how the new structure looks:
The company will have four SVPs managing specific groups of markts. These SVPs are:
-- DAVE CROWL (Central)
-- BILL GENTY (Eastern)
-- MARK KOPELMAN (Western)
-- ED KRAMPF (Western)Additionally, CCR has "defined a more focused team of senior programming professionals to build on [their] programming strengths and continually improve the quality of [their] programming." These SVPs of Programming are:
-- MARC CHASE (Eastern)
-- MICHAEL MARTIN (Western & Central)
-- GENE ROMANO (Eastern & Central)
-- ALAN SLEDGE (Western & Central)The following execs will serve as RVPs managing "specific markets and [overseeing] other geographies":

-- LINDA BYRD
-- MICHAEL CRUSHAM
-- BRUCE DEMPS
-- DAN DILORETO
-- ALENE GREVEY

-- TOM MCCONNELLFurthermore, CCR has named 10 Pres. & Market Managers in the company's 10 biggest markets in order to "focus the full, undivided attention of a local manager on [the company's] most crucial markets." The Pres. & Market Managers, who will have exclusive responsibility for their single market, are as follows:

In the wake of today's announcement, ALL ACCESS is hearing of some CLEAR CHANNEL employees who have been let go. Thus far, we've confirmed that CLEAR CHANNEL/INDIANAPOLIS Market Manager CHRIS WHEAT has exited. We'll have more info as we get it.
