MODEST MOUSE is set to headline TAMPA's GASPARILLA MUSIC FESTIVAL, set for MARCH 7th and 8th. They will be joined by main-stage performers MUTEMATH and the ABYSSINIANS, as well as previously announced artists, including GOGOL BORDELLO, THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, TRAMPLED BY TURTLES, THE BUDOS BAND, DALE EARNHARDT JR. JR., DUMPSTAPHUNK and local FLORIDA bands THE HIP ABDUCTION, MIGGS, SELWIN BIRCHWOOD, SUENALO, THOMAS WYNN & THE BELIEVERS, REDFEATHER, AMBER LYNN NICOL, UNRB and MT. ZION GOSPEL CHOIR. More acts will be added.
MODEST MOUSE are set to release their new studio album, "Strangers To Ourselves," on EPIC RECORDS MARCH 3rd just prior to their appearance at GMF. It's the band's first studio album since 2007’s “We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.”
NEW ORLEANS' own MUTEMATH, whose sound fuses elements from psychedelia to traditional gospel to modern electronica yet still firmly rooted in rhythm and blues, will also be releasing a new recording later this year. JAMAICAN roots reggae trio THE ABYSSINIANS are famous for their close harmonies and promotion of the RASTAFARI movement within their lyrics.
GMF, now in its fourth year, is organized by a not-for-profit corporation and takes place in the unique and picturesque Tampa, FL location of CURTIS HIXON WATERFRONT PARK and KILEY GARDEN.
Tickets are available for $60 for both days, $40 for SATURDAY and $30 for SUNDAY here.
