Alice In Chains To Perform At Halftime Of NFC Championship Game

They may be banned from the MILWAUKEE airwaves (NET NEWS, 1/14), but ALICE IN CHAINS will be welcome at CENTURYLINK FIELD this SUNDAY to perform at halftime of the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME between the hometown SEAHAWKS and the GREEN BAY PACKERS for the right to play in the SUPER BOWL in two weeks.
The SEATTLE-based rock band recently wrapped a worldwide tour in support of GRAMMY-nominated album "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here," the charts at #2. The album’s first two singles, “Stone” and “Hollow,” both hit #1 on the rock charts, with their companion videos racking up more than five million combined YOUTUBE views.
Alongside NIRVANA, PEARL JAM and SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS were one of the Big Four to emerge from SEATTLE and went on to change the sound of Modern Rock as one of the most successful and influential AMERICAN rock bands of all time.
In addtion, KATHARINE McPHEE will perform the National Anthem prior to kickoff. The Season 5 "AMERICAN IDOL" contestant went on to star as KAREN CARTWRIGHT in the NBC musical drama, "Smash." She currently stars on the hit CBS show, "Scorpion."
