Andrew Patton Retiring From Artist Management
January 28, 2015 at 8:36 AM (PT)
PATTON HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT and CCM radio/promotional/management industry veteran ANDREW PATTON is retiring from the artist management business in FEBRUARY.
ANDREW began his career at PROGRESSIVE BROADCASTING Contemporary Christian WFRN (104.7)/ELKHART-SOUTH BEND over 25 years ago. He moved to NASHVILLE and took the radio promotions world by storm at WORD as NEW GUY ANDREW, then moved to PROVIDENT LABEL GROUP as VP National Promotions.
In 2005 he saw a missing niche in the artist management world, and left PROVIDENT to hang the PATTON HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT shingle. During his time there he helped to break many new acts, spent several years as GM of INPOP RECORDS, and served on numerous industry committees and service groups.
As ANDREW explains, "I believe we are all GOD created, and that we all can identify with that feeling we get, deep inside, when we know the seasons are changing. Even with just reading that line, your mind went somewhere. Maybe it went to how you feel when spring starts, or fall. It’s newness. A different smell in the air. We know and understand that on this earth, things are constantly changing. Maybe some of you thought of something ‘negative’ when you read about seasons. It’s how we all have wired the world to work, or not, for us.
"Twenty-five years ago, I walked into a Christian radio station and my seasons changed. I was exposed and encouraged to do something new. Over the course of more than two decades, there have been many times when I felt the winds of change in the air. In 2005, I stepped away from the ‘corporate’ world and started PATTON HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT. It was a season for me of growth, longing, passion, fear, nervousness, anxiety. Anytime you put your salary needs into your own hands, it’s a daunting experience. The past 10 years for me have been a roller-coaster ride. I have ridden at times with my hands up in the air, and other times grabbing the bar in front to hold on for dear life!
"Next month, I’m putting another chapter to close on my career as I retire from the artist management business. I want to publicly thank so many people for how they have believed and invested their time, ideas, and resources into both PATTON HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT and myself over the last number of years. So here goes! RUSH OF FOOLS, JOANNA MARTINO BEASLEY, WAYNE WATSON, 1 GIRL NATION, LEXI LARSEN, SARAH REEVES, ECHOING ANGELS, AUSTIN’S BRIDGE, MICHAEL GUNGOR BAND, CHASEN CALLAHAN, RHETT WALKER, JIMMY NEEDHAM, LEX ANDERSON, JOEY ROSE, TREY HEFFINGER, BRITTANY SPICER, GLENN GOODWIN, TIFFANY ROCKHOLD, MO THIEMAN, AVA DAVIS, JOY LIPPARD, KATE LAZAR VOGEL, KAYLA CONN, KEITH SMITH, MATT INGLE, CHRIS HAUSER, WENDY AUSTIN CHILD, BEVERLY MITCHELL, AARON BUCY, ADAM EDELSTEIN, BRIAN SMITH, CHRIS MURPHY, KARISA HURST, MICHAEL HARE, MICHAEL HOWARD, SHAUN MILLER, TERRY HEMMINGS, JEFF ROBERTS, GREG OLIVER, MARK CLAASSEN, MIKE ATKINS, TED GRAFFAM, RANDY SMITH, ROLAND LUNDY, MIKE SNIDER, MIKE ROBERTS, DAVE WAGNER, WES CAMPBELL, EDDIE DEGARMO, CASEY MCGINTY, MATT EWALD, JASON MCARTHUR, AL ANDREWS, KEITHON STRIBLING, REBECCA SYVERSON, MEGAN PEREZ, JOHN MULLINS, DAN KEEN, JESSIE DANIELS, BOB MORRISON & DEREK BRUNER.
"This adventure of mine would not have been possible without the never-ending support of my wife, JOY. So grateful, baby, that you believe in dreaming.
"So, 'what’s next?' you ask, wonder, worry, question, or ponder? Well, I’m not sure. I am choosing to allow myself to fully trust GOD to bring me my next adventure. But in the words of THOMAS MERTON, from Thoughts in Solitude, I will end with, 'My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not seethe road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.'"
