EMMIS Classic Hits KIHT (KHITS 96.3)/ST. LOUIS has flipped to Top 40 as NOW96.3. The call letters have also been changed to KNOU.
The station will feature former crosstown iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 KSLZ (Z107.7) host CURT COPELAND in mornings, former ST. LOUIS radio personality turned TV host TODD NEWTON in middays, former WKQX (Q101)/CHICAGO and WPLY (Y100)/PHILADELPHIA personality CHRISTINE PAWLAK in afternoons and former MAX MEDIA Top 40 WCIL-F (101.5 CIL-FM)/CARBONDALE, IL host NINA BLANCO at night.
SVP/GM JOHN BECK said, “Our classic hits station at 96.3 was underperforming causing us to look for new opportunities. We conducted extensive research, spoke to ST. LOUIS radio listeners and found a need for a music station that plays all the current hits with fewer commercials and includes local personalities that St. Louisans can meet and relate to. We have done all of that with the new NOW96.3.”
PD TOMMY MATTERN said, "NOW96.3 will have a totally local focus and feel. The music will be chosen locally, the station will be programmed locally, the contests will be played locally so St. Louisians won’t have to compete with people from other cities. In addition, the new NOW96.3 will go 60 minutes commercial free every time the music starts.”
