JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/SPRINGFIELD, MO cluster, which includes KTTS, 106.7 FM THE RIVER, KSGF, and POWER 96.5 FM, will partner with HURTS DONUT and MCDONALD’S OF THE OZARKS to present “Back The Blue,” to help generate donations for Officer AARON PEARSON, who was injured in the line of the duty while serving with the SPRINGFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT.
“At JOURNAL, we take our mission of service to the community seriously," JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/SPRINGFIELD GM REX HANSEN said. "It’s an honor to band together with other local businesses and our listeners in support of OFFICER PEARSON and his family.”
On FEBRUARY 5th, supporters can stop by the BATTLEFIELD MALL parking lot from 6:30-8:30a to pick up breakfast from HURTS DONUT and a fresh cup of hot coffee from MCDONALD’S OF THE OZARKS. A suggested cash donation of $10 will go to help support OFFICER PEARSON and his family.
“We offer our prayers and support as owner/operators that live and work in the same town as OFFICER PEARSON,” MCDONALD’S OF THE OZARKS Co-op Pres. DAN BLUMENSTOCK said. “We thank him for his service to our community and are humbled to support this cause to help him and his family in such a difficult time.”
Early on the morning JANUARY 26th, PEARSON was called to assist a fellow officer who noticed suspicious activity behind a business that was closed for the night. PEARSON was shot in the head and sustained what SPRINGFIELD POLICE Chief PAUL WILLIAMS has called “career-ending injuries.” Officials say PEARSON remains in a SPRINGFIELD hospital with serious injuries and has a long road to recovery.
“HURTS DONUT COMPANY is proud to be a part of the fundraiser to show community support for OFFICER PEARSON,” HURTS DONUT Owner TIM CLEGG said. “We hope, in turn, that the community can make a small contribution in support to this citizen of SPRINGFIELD and his family that will assist in his healing and recovery.”
