The original NAPSTER logo sign that hung outside the notorious company's WEST HOLLYWOOD headquarters is part of the GRAMMY AWARDS CHARITY AUCTION benefitting the GRAMMY FOUNDATION and MUSICARES.
The sign has been donated by RED BULL RECORDS, who currently occupy the former NAPSTER offices on MELROSE AVENUE, as well as KEVIN LYMAN and the VANS WARPED TOUR.
This iconic piece of culltural history marked a groundbreaking change in the music business: 2014 marked 15 years since NAPSTER revolutionized (though some say "destroyed") the industry and changed the way a generation listened to and acquired music. It ushered in an entire new era of music sharing and is often credited for the end of the album era. Founded in 1999, the NAPSTER legacy is still easily recognized by their iconic logo.
Auction is live now and closes FEBRUARY 15th. Bid here: www.ebay.com/grammy
