SETON HALL UNIVERSITY Rock WSOU (89.5 FM)/NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY is bringing back the specialty show Hardcore Reality on FEBRUARY 11th, from 10p-midnight. “MAD MATT” SNEE will host the show, which has been on a three-year hiatus.
“Hardcore music has always been a staple of our metal and hard rock format, but the genre’s resurgence in the GARDEN STATE and NEW YORK CITY makes this the right time to return Hardcore Reality to WSOU’s airwaves,” PD STEVE VARSANYI said. “A weekly show dedicated exclusively to hardcore allows WSOU to explore this music more deeply than we can do during regular rotation.”
“I am deeply passionate about the music and eager to share my knowledge and love of hardcore with WSOU’s listeners,” SNEE said. “Since joining the station staff I’ve wanted to bring Hardcore Reality back and I am grateful that STEVE is giving me the opportunity to host a program that has historic significance for WSOU.”
“The show will have a special emphasis on local bands like THE BANNER, E-TOWN CONCRETE, SUBURBAN SCUM, WISDOM IN CHAINS and INCENDIARY, while also featuring national acts like DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR and DOWN TO NOTHING,” VARSANYI said.
“I'm hoping to bring the show back to its former glory," SNEE added. "We have the best hardcore scene in the world right here in NEW JERSEY/NEW YORK. I plan to do it justice.”
