DONALD F. HENDREN is selling K292ES/CANE SPRINGS, AZ to STEVEN M. GREELEY for $40,000.
In other filings with the FCC, COX RADIO, INC. has requested a Silent STA for W249CK/DULUTH, GA so it can replace coaxial cable for repairs.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for W212BV/MERIDIAN, MS while it awaits grant of a move to a new site after having to vacate one tower due to interference and change from a replacement tower due to a crack in that tower's leg.
OASIS OF FAITH, INC. is requesting an extension of its Silent STA for KPCV/PORTALES, NM due to "issues with its transmitter."
SAGA COMMUNICATIONS OF IOWA, LLC has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for K230AT/WINTERSET, IA because it needs more time to construct the recently-acquired station's new facility as it moves into DES MOINES.
LKK GROUP CORP. has closed on the sale of noncommercial NPR affiliate WVGN/CHARLOTTE AMALIE, VI to VIRGIN ISLANDS RADIO ENTERTAINMENT DETROIT, LLC for $285,000.
And PRETTYMAN BROADCASTING has closed on the sale of News-Talk WEPM-A and AC WLTF (LITE 97.5)/MARTINSBURG, WV and Country WICL (95.9 THE BIG DAWG)/WILLIAMSPORT, MD to JOHN RAESE's WEST VIRGINIA RADIO CORP. OF THE ALLEGHENIES for $3 million.
ADAMS RADIO OF NORTHERN INDIANA LLC has filed another informal objection to WINDY CITY BROADCASTING, LLC's application to increase W280EM/CHICAGO to 99 watts at 355 meters above ground level with a directional antenna atop the JOHN HANCOCK CENTER in downtown CHICAGO. The translator signed on in DECEMBER as Jazz THE GROOVE (rebroadcasting WTMX-HD2); the proposed increase, filed as a minor change, will continue to interfere with the signal of ADAMS' co-channel WXRD (XROCK 103.9)/CROWN POINT, IN in areas where the latter station has listeners, the filing alleges. ADAMS' previous complaints prompted the application for using a directional antenna, but ADAMS says that the change does not cure the problem and is asking that the translator be taken off the air except for brief tests.
The FCC has also cancelled the licenses of KATE F. FITE for WERH-A/HAMILTON, AL due to silence for over a year; SEASIDE SCHOOL for WTHA-LP/SEASIDE, FL at the applicant's request; and NEZ PERCE TRIBE for KUUS-LP/LAPWAI, ID at the applicant's request. In addition, the application of NEW BOHEMIA GROUP, INC. for noncommercial KNBO/COGGON, IA has been dismissed at the applicant's request after an initial grant was rescinded and the permit returned to pending status; PLUS CHARITIES' application has been reinstated for the same frequency and location.
