CRS In Action: 'Social Media Bootcamp'
February 27, 2015 at 11:30 AM (PT)
FRIDAY (2/27) morning sessions at CRS 2015 included a two-hour double-session study on social media.
The first track, entitled "HOW TO SPEAK IN YOUR BRAND'S VOICE AND GET CONTENT SHARED" included three panelists teaching in fifteen-minute sessions. WILLIAM MORRIS HIGHMAN MANAGEMENT VP/Marketing BASAK KIZILISIK, UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS creative consultant JEFFREY JAMESON, and KOKE/AUSTIN morning co-host and blogger RITA BALLOU focused on knowing your audience, following best practices based upon each social media platform, and telling your brand's story with compelling content.
Noted takeaways include the difference between video and photo content, which tell a more powerful story via YOUTUBE, FACEBOOK, and INSTAGRAM versus copy content and one-on-one communications which skew toward TWITTER and FACEBOOK interactions.
Track two, entitled "FINDING & ENGAGING YOUR CONSUMERS IN REAL-TIME" again revisited the fifteen minute session setup with JAMESON returning as an instructor alongside MARKETING GROUP/ATLANTA owner SHANI SAMMONS and TOBY KEITH MANAGEMENT tour liaison/social media manager SUZANNE DURHAM. JAMESON focused on understanding FACEBOOK analytics, while both DURHAM and SAMMONS worked within their sessions to answer questions from the groups who had completed both tracks of the seminar but had station-specific questions.
