Forty-one years after the legendary BOTTOM LINE club opened its doors in GREENWICH VILLAGE, the BOTTOM LINE ARCHIEVE SERIES is set to re-launch MARCH 24th with three new titles, each recorded live at the club: KENNY RANKIN Plays THE BEATLES & More (1990), THE BRECKER BROTHERS (1976) and WILLIE NILE (1980, 2000). The series is distributed via BFD/RED. BFD is a division of BOB FRANK ENTERTAINMENT.
These three releases signal the start of an extensive quarterly roll-out of more than 24 new titles over the next two years, including classic live performances by JOHN HIATT, HARRY CHAPIN, EMMYLOU HARRIS, JANIS IAN, SVOY BROWN, RALPH STANLEY, JORMA KAUKONEN and RORY GALLAGHER, among others. The next releases are scheduled for JUNE and OCTOBER.
"We're thrilled that these vintage performances are now available for everyone to enjoy," says BOTTOM LINE co-founder/curator ALLAN PEPPER. "These live performances will deliver a priceless experience for listeners, and lots of great memories of a glorious time in music history."
Series producer GREGG BENDIAN, who performed frequently at THE BOTTOM LINE with his band, THE MAHAVISHNU PROJECT, says these three releases are special. "Both the KENNY RANKIN and BRECKER BROTHERS titles mark the only official live albums from these artists, and the WILLIE NILE two-disc set spans a 20-year gap starting with a show that was broadcast live on WNEW-FM at the start of his career and circling back when he made a full-on comeback two decades later."
All music from THE BOTTOM LINE ARCHIVE has been mixed and mastered at the THE MAGIC SHOP, an award-winning state-of-the-art studio in NEW YORK.
