RCA RECORDS tied a record this week as they scored the number one song at six different formats. The multi-format hit “Uptown Funk” by MARK RONSON featuring BRUNO MARS held the #1 position at Top 40 and Rhythmic, while ascending to #1 at Hot AC. THREE DAYS GRACE held the #1 spot at both Active Rock and Rock with “I Am Machine,” while WALK THE MOON held #1 Alternative with “Shut Up And Dance.”
This ties the previous record set by INTERSCOPE in AUGUST of 2013. In that week, “Blurred Lines” by ROBIN THICKE, T.I., and PHARRELL WILLIAMS held the #1 position at five formats, while PHILLIP PHILLIPS “Gone, Gone, Gone” was #1 at AC.
“We are truly blessed with amazingly strong songs at all formats. Hats off to the RCA national and regional team for displaying precision promotion and nailing the top of each one of these charts,” commented RCA RECORDS EVP/GM JOE RICCITELLI.
“It’s always a treat to see chart achievements of a special nature -- this week RCA tying the record held by Interscope for the most amount of #1’s in a single chart week. A special congratulations to the entire RCA team for tying the record!,” added MEDIA MONITORS and MEDIABASE CEO/Pres. PHILIPPE GENERALI.
