Global Entertainment Announces More Appointments

GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT, the content creation arm of ASHLEY TABOR's U.K.-founded GLOBAL, THE MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, today announced the appointment of more key executives in the division headed by CEO RANDY PHILLIPS (NET NEWS, 2/20)
MONTI OLSON joins as an EVP and Managing Dir./Worldwide Music Publishing, leading GLOBAL PUBLISHING across both the L.A. and London offices. OLSON joins from UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP, where he was EVP/Head of A & R.
PAUL ADAM expands his A&R responsibilities in a new position as SVP/A&R, based in LONDON and working across both the U.K. and U.S. for recorded music and music publishing. He is a seasoned A&R executive with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, with senior roles at MERCURY RECORDS, ISLAND RECORDS and POLYDOR, launching BJORK’s career, and signing acts including THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, SUEDE, IAN BROWN and AMY MACDONALD. He was a judge on the first reality TV talent show, "Popstars," which was the forerunner to "Pop Idol" and "The X Factor."
Industry pro BOB SEMANOVICH joins as SVP Marketing, based in L.A. from CAPITOL RECORDS, where he was responsible for the marketing strategy and implementation of acts including KATY PERRY, BECK, ROD STEWART and COLDPLAY.
BEN KARTER, who reports to SEMANOVICH, joins as GM, Recorded Music, U.K. KARTER was previously Director at JAMES GRANT MANAGEMENT. Prior to that he was Head of Marketing at MERCURY RECORDS, where he looked after artists including ELTON JOHN, TAYLOR SWIFT, JAKE BUGG and BON JOVI.
NICOLA CARSON joins as VP/Artist Management, based in LOS ANGELES. She was formerly at MODEST MANAGEMENT, where she oversaw LEONA LEWIS and ONE DIRECTION in the U.S.
In the U.K., RACHEL WOOD, who has been at GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT for four years, partners with CARSON as VP Artist Management, based in LONDON.
“These executives are all seasoned pros who can think outside-the-box and get the job done for our artists which fits the GLOBAL profile," PHILLIPS said. "I have always maintained that a great company is only as great as the people in it and MONTI, PAUL, BOB, BEN, NICOLA and RACHEL are an example of the commitment that GLOBAL is making to our industry. There are other significant executive announcements coming now that GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT is running on all cylinders."
