WHCU Wines and Dines For Charity

SAGA/CAYUGA RADIO GROUP News-Talk WHCU-A-W240CB/ITHACA, NY's "MORNING NEWSWATCH" with LEE RAYBURN held a "Wine and Dine Radiothon" on the air FRIDAY (3/6) to benefit the UNITED WAY OF TOMPKINS COUNTY. Each hour from 6a to 6p (ET), RAYBURN offered a different restaurant and wine pairing for auction, including a $200 gift certificate for each restaurant and a case of wine or craft beer donated by a winery or craft brewery. $5,350 was raised for the cause.
RAYBURN said, “I am humbled and grateful for the generosity of WHCU's listeners. I am overwhelmed by the support that our local businesses give to the UNITED WAY's efforts. I am overjoyed by the difference that the UNITED WAY makes through its affiliate organizations and their daily work in creating a quality of life in our community that is clearly second to none.”
CAYUGA RADIO GROUP GM/VP CHET OSADCHEY added, “The UNITED WAY OF TOMPKINS COUNTY plays a critical role that positively impacts all people in our community. FRIDAY’s event raised awareness to individuals and companies to remind them to donate financially to the UNITED WAY. We can all make a difference.”
