Jim Scott Retiring From WLW, Mike McConnell To Host Mornings

iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI morning host JIM SCOTT is retiring, the station officially announced this morning. SCOTT will do his final show on APRIL 3rd, with longtime former WLW host MIKE MCCONNELL returning to daily duty to take over mornings on CINCINNATI REDS' Opening Day.
SCOTT has been on the air in CINCINNATI since 1968 at WSAI-A; he came to the market from WKBW-A/BUFFALO and has been in CINCINNATI ever since, except for a brief tenure at WNBC-A/NEW YORK. MCCONNELL was the midday host at WLW for 25 years before a three-year run at TRIBUNE News-Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO that ended in 2013; he has been filling in at WLW since last year.
SCOTT said, "47 years of waking up the TRI-STATE has been such a privilege. I'm looking forward to saying thank you on the air till my favorite day of the year Opening Day. See you in the FINDLAY MARKET Parade."
