KXFN Back To Sports In St. Louis

Embattled GRAND SLAM SPORTS has flipped Talk KXFN-A (1380 THE X)/ST. LOUIS back to Sports, with KEVIN SLATEN returning to the local airwaves under a lease arrangement by which TALKSTL.COM is programming the station with SLATEN's local show and YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO.
The ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH's DAN CAESAR is reporting that TALKSTL's owner SCOTT GERTKEN plans to add a full lineup of local sports talk by APRIL 6th.
SLATEN, who has been on several stations in the market, was most recently on GRAND SLAM SPORTS' Sports KFNS-A (590 THE MAN), which went off the air in NOVEMBER amidst reports of internal trouble, management disputes, and unpaid utility bills; he has been streaming an afternoon show at TALKSTL.COM. MIKE CALVIN took over management of the stations last SUMMER after President DAN KENNEDY resigned, but CAESAR reports that CALVIN, more recently serving as a consultant working to sell the stations, has exited and had opposed the format change at KXFN.
