The LOS ANGELES DODGERS and iHEARTMEDIA have rebranded Sports KLAC-A (AM 570 FOX SPORTS L.A.)/LOS ANGELES as AM 570 LA SPORTS, heralding the previously-announced partnership under which the baseball club is taking part-ownership of the station. A new logo incorporating the DODGERS' interlocking L.A. cap logo will be accompanied by a slightly revamped lineup that adds a local show, "LA TODAY" with BILL REITER and LEANN TWEEDEN, for 9a-noon (PT).
Returning is the pre- and post-game DODGER TALK, hosted by DAVID VASSEGH and KEVIN KENNEDY, which will now also air on non-game weeknights at 7p. The station is launching what it calls an "extensive outdoor and mobile campaign" with legendary broadcaster VIN SCULLY and DODGER stars CLAYTON KERSHAW and YASIEL PUIG featured.
iHEARTMEDIA Market Manager GREG ASHLOCK said, “This relationship with iHEARTMEDIA and the DODGERS is made in Blue Heaven. We’re excited about the synergistic opportunities between our music, sports and entertainment properties. The DODGERS, with their current leadership and commitment to the fans and community, represent everything that you’d want in a partner.”
DODGERS Pres./CEO STAN KASTEN said, “We are thrilled to partner with AM 570 LA SPORTS. We’ve had a wonderful relationship over the years and our new partnership will make it even stronger as we work together to bring DODGER fans the finest in LA Sports radio programming.”
iHEARTMEDIA SVP/Sports Programming DON MARTIN adds, “The new logo and local programming additions represent our commitment and dedication to the L.A. and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA sports fan. AM 570 LA SPORTS is powered by DODGER baseball with VIN SCULLY, CHARLEY STEINER and RICK MONDAY and features L.A.’s premier SportsTalk lineup.”
